“The Deep Blue Houndstooth Diamond Self-Tie Bow Tie is inspired by that time my boat capsized and I was forced to ride dolphins to shore,” one of the brothers at OTAA explains as he navigates a rickety boat in the middle of the Atlantic. The blue palette came from the idea that when his boat was submerged underwater, all he could see was a vast ocean of deep navy blue, he thought; “That’s what I’ll do if I ever get back to shore: design a deep blue houndstooth bow tie. People will dig it and I’ll probably land a 60 Minutes interview!”
